Master Class Description
This master class will be taught with an ‘ALL LEVELS’ approach. Beginners are encouraged to join!
In AJ’s floorwork master class, we will deepen your relationship to the floor by exploring complex pathways, workshopping rigorous inversions and tricks, and building strength through efficiency. Class begins with a dynamic warm up establishing themes, your connection to the floor, and preparing the muscles for an extensive practice. The structure progresses into a constant flow of movement across the floor, creating fluidity within your body and the space around us. Class culminates to a final phrase, challenging your edge and incorporating themes and skills from previous exercises throughout the practice. This is a safe space for you to take risks, play, and make mistakes! While this class moves at a swift pace and is recommended for movers with contemporary experience, beginners are encouraged to join and participate at their discretion, as this class lends to a “choose your own adventure” approach. Easier modifications will be offered for high-level skills. Let’s dive in!

*If you are paying at the door, you will pay Ashley Jade directly upon entering Studio C.

Ashley Jade is offering this master class independently, so you WILL NOT be able to sign up/register on Gibney’s website, and it may not appear on their website’s class schedule.
How to get there:
Class will be held in Studio C at Gibney (280 Broadway), NYC- Lower Manhattan
Entrance is located at 53A Chambers St.
Know before you go:
There will be a sign-in process upon arrival that may take a few minutes, so plan accordingly. You will be prompted at the security desk to enter your full name and email into the system to create an account. For those who have existing accounts, you will sign in either via the Sign In App Companion, by scanning the QR code on your mobile, or using the IPAD at the desk.
*If you provide your full name and email in the Venmo transaction, your info will already be saved in the system (which will save you time upon arrival) and you’ll simply just have to sign in.
IMPORTANT:
This class will be filmed! Ashley Jade will have an assistant present to film portions of class on an iPhone and small camera. This won’t be a large production by any means, but you may end up in footage posted to AJ’s social media channels. If you are not comfortable being filmed, this class may not be the ideal environment for you!
FAQ:
Can dancers under the age of 18 participate in the master class?
Yes, teens 13-17 may participate with parent or guardian consent. If you are concerned about dancer’s level, please contact Ashley Jade directly at ashleyjade.pietro@gmail.com with attn: ‘Master Class Inquiry’ so we can discuss if this master class is the right fit!
Can beginners take this master class?
While this master class will be geared towards advanced level dancers, beginners are more than welcome to join and participate at their discretion. Easier modifications will be offered for most high level tricks and inversions. We will move at a faster pace than a beginner level classes, but the structure of this master class lends to a “choose your own adventure” approach. It’s a judgement free zone!
What should I wear?
Bring layers! Long pants and shirts that cover the shoulders are recommended. Socks are optional (I typically wear them!) Fabrics that you can slide in are best!
What if I’ve already registered, but am not able to attend?
If you secure a spot and are not able to make it, you will receive a full refund if cancelled within 48hrs of class. Refunds will not be issued the day before or day of class. If you need to request a refund, please email Ashley Jade directly at ashleyjade.pietro@gmail.com with attn: ‘Class Refund’
